Family Fun Night

Each year the Chipmunk's school has a family fun night. Here's a few pics from our evening of fun!

Flag Football 2009

Headed to HPU!!

Durham commits to High Point

NOBLESVILLE -- Noblesville senior Brittany Durham has committed to play volleyball at High Point University, according to her Team Indiana club coach Michelle Hamblen Coleman.

Durham, who is on track to graduate in December, is entering her third year as a starter for the Millers. The 5-foot-10 outside hitter was named honorable mention All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference last season.

First Day of School

Not much to say - they're "old pros". They both LOVE their teachers! The Peacock started school this year after being homeschooled since 3rd grade. She seems to really like NCS and will be playing for their volleyball team which means we'll have three in sports this fall - should be fun :=)

Great Times

Our firm recently sponsored a family day at Great Times. Here are a few shots of the kids on the bumper boats and the car that the Chipmunk COULD drive. The Roadrunner was bummed that he couldn't drive a go-cart!!

Supperthyme

I've had a link to Supperthyme on our blog for quite some time, but I wanted to share a little more about how much we LOVE this place. There are many "dinner places" to choose from these days, and we have tried several of them. By far, Supperthyme has been our absolute favorite!! In fact, I think we have purchased meals from them every month for probably the last three years. When I went in today to pick up my meals, I asked the owner if they were struggling because of the economy. With what looked to be tears in her eyes, she answered "yes" and indicated they could be closing in September :=( So in an effort to prevent this from happening (and for very selfish reasons), I wanted to put in a plug for Supperthyme! They are located off of US 32 in Westfield, and their web site is http://www.supperthymeusa.com/. We love the variety of the monthly menus, the convenience of just having to pull something out of the freezer for dinner (minimizing meal planning and grocery shopping), and all in all I think it's a great deal!! If you have a smaller family, you can 1/2 the dishes and end up with twice the number of meals for a month! Check them out. I don't think you'll be disappointed!!!

Life

I was sitting down looking over the old posts on our blog and realized just how crazy things have been around here lately - comparing last year's summer events with a complete absence of events and blogging this summer :=( If you've kept up with me on Facebook, you know that I returned to work about a month ago. Life hasn't been any crazier in terms of the kids' schedules, but add in an almost full-time job for me, and things go to a whole new level!! It's definitely a new season, and God is working it all out. I'm excited to see what He has in store for us. Some of the BIG changes to come....the Peacock will be heading off to school for the first time since 2nd grade, and the Beast may be leaving for college in six months!!!! I'm not quite sure which part of the roller coaster we're on, but we're going to sit back, throw our hands in the air and enjoy the ride :=)

I won't bore you with the details of my purchase this morning, but suffice it to say that you SHOULD check out the CVS insert in today's paper!!  I spent $23.61 after using $16.99 in CVS/manufacturer's coupons and got $15.99 back in Extra Bucks!!  Total spent after Extra Buck's = $7.62!  Good stuff on sale (almost free after Extra Bucks) including Band-Aid's, Revlon nail polish, Colgate toothpaste and more!  (Note:  Some sale prices are only good today and Monday)  Happy CVS'ing :=)

Spring Program 2009

We had trouble getting some good pictures due to all of the movement, but here are a few from the chipmunk's spring program.

Taking a bow...

Singing...
...and dancing!!

The really funny thing was that one of the 2nd grade teachers wore the exact same costume as the chipmunk as part of the program (picture a guy about 6'2" in a white angel costume :=) I wish I had been able to get a picture of the two of them together!!

Easter 2009

We celebrated Easter at home this year.  My parents brought yummy food and eggs filled with candy and money!!  The beast hid the eggs outside, and the search was on!!

The peacock trying to find the money-filled eggs!
We had to make it easy for the monkey!!

The van was a popular hiding place...
No fair!

It's a Girl!!

Yes, the title is for pure shock value only, and NO we're not having another baby :=)

Here is the newest member of our family...

Miley Cyrus Marley Durham ~ the chipmunk's new hamster

Just what we need, ANOTHER girl in the house!!!

Chipmunk's Birthday

Unfortunately, we were having some "technical issues" with our camera so we did not get any pictures on the chipmunk's actual birthday.  We did, however, get a few from our joint celebration with my parents.

After chipmunk and roadrunner opened their presents, my dad told them he would take them on a bike ride to the park.  They pulled out their old bikes, and my dad said that he had brought his own bike and that it was in the back of the van.  When he opened the van, they saw two new bikes!!!

Heading off to the park...

They love the Wii!  I love this picture of the chipmunk
without her two front teeth :=)
