Moriah's 1st Birthday

This past year went by fast! It doesn't seem possible that one year ago I was in the hospital with Moriah. It's also still hard to believe that she had to be delivered via C-section at 5 lbs. 6 oz.

She's a little bigger one year later....just under 17 lbs. and in the 0 percentile for weight :0) Here are few birthday pics...

This is what you get when you're 1 of 5 -
whatever cake Marsh has already made, and
Mom & Dad can't even get the # on right :0)

When I saw this picture, I thought of the scene
in What About Bob where Bill Murray is REALLY
enjoying dinner with the family...Mmmm Mmmmm

This cake sure is good!

I think if you stand the toy straight up, it
is taller than Moriah!

I can walk!

Extreme ROOM Makeover

We tried really hard to plan a surprise party for Brittany's upcoming 16th birthday; however, we couldn't find a date where SHE would actually be available to attend! So, while she was in Orlando for AAU Nationals, I decided to give her room a "makeover".

GO TNT! - FROM YOUR FANS IN INDIANA

I LOVE YOU TNT!!

MAKE THE OTHER TEAMS CRY LIKE BABIES!

A CHEER FROM YOUR BIGGEST LITTLEST FANS!

Happy Father's Day!

We celebrated Father's Day by having lunch with my parents at MCL today. I know, most of you are not excited by the thought of eating at MCL, but our family LOVES it!

Here's Moriah having her first dessert (pumpkin
pie) with Sydney

Second dessert (chocolate pudding) with Dad

The whole "fam" minus Brittany who flew to
Orlando this morning for AAU Nationals -
Go TNT!!

"Hollywood" on the ride home

Here's proof that God knows what He is talking about when He says that children are a blessing. This is the poem that Sydney wrote and gave to Kenney today:

A Few Words That Describe You
Every time we try to spy
You catch us and give us advice that is wise
You've helped us build high forts
Even though you're quite short
We know you work all day in the sun
But when you get home you're still fun
We always ask for money
And your comment is always funny
Every day you teach us sharing
How can you be so caring?
Unfortunately for this line of the poem
There is nothing that rhymes with awesome!

You think you're "all that" all the time, but
you're not...you're much more!

I couldn't have said it better myself!

More Joshua Moments...

So I have two funny stories from last Wednesday when Brittany's volleyball team was scheduled to scrimmage the US National Deaf Team at the Indiana Deaf School. We dropped Brittany off and headed to grab dinner until it was time for the match to start. After our trip to McDonald's, I had to locate an ATM so that we could get cash to pay to get into the game since it was a fundraising event. I ended up driving all the way to Broad Ripple trying to locate a bank. After driving through several banks, none of which had ATM's, I told Kiley and Joshua to keep their eyes open for a bank (like they REALLY could help me). A few seconds later, Joshua said, "Do you think we should ask God to help us find a bank?" I told him that was a great idea and that I would love it if he would pray. He started off with the standard "Thank you God for this day" which begins all of his prayers at meal time. I half expected him to follow it with a blessing for our food. Anyway, he simply said, "God please help us find a bank so we won't be late to the volleyball game". Wow! I was so impressed that he knew to take even the simplest of requests to God! I know you won't be surprised by this, but we found an ATM immediately and made it in time for the game!

The second incident happened at the match. Joshua was very interested in the people who were signing. He finally asked what they were doing, and I explained that they were "talking" to each other with their hands. Joshua said very seriously, "Oh, I know that language" and started waving his hands and making different gestures while moving his mouth without saying anything. It was too funny!

My two Mozart's...Moriah is quite the accompanist as you might imagine!

Kiley & Moriah in their matching dresses from Hawaii

Jane Fonda has nothing on this cutie - snot and all! Moriah has started taking steps, so it won't be long before she'll be jazzercising :0)
