Tips

So I call these lovely items the "tips" I receive for doing the laundry. Who says that what we do as mothers goes unnoticed. I mean really - what more could I ask for? I'm guessing the pennies came from Kenney. If I save them, I'm sure I will be able to purchase one of those super capacity front load washers. He probably also left the screws...you know in case I'm in the middle of repairing something and can't find one. I'm really excited about the dice because when I'm not sitting on the couch eating bon-bons, I'm usually out on the curb playing dice with "my girls" :0) What kind of tips do you find at the bottom of your washer?

Do You Love Me?

So we have this "super secret" handshake that we do with Kiley and Joshua before bed every night. Kenney came up with it, and it's a nice part of the bed-time routine (except when we can't do it for one reason or another and it leads to crying, complaining, etc.). It goes something like this:

You hold each other's hand and squeeze as you say:

Do you love me?
Yes, I do.
How much?
Squeeze (you squeeze hard if you REALLY love them!)

So we do this with the kids. They ask first, and then we ask. I did it with Kiley Sunday night, and then it was her turn to squeeze. After, she squeezed my hand, she laid down and said, "I love you more than that, but my hand hurts tonight, so I can't squeeze any harder." Too cute!

Interesting Conversation...

I had an interesting conversation with Joshua this weekend. He came upstairs and asked if he and Kiley could go back out to play after dessert. I told him that he needed to ask Kenney, to which he replied, "Why? Aren't you a parent, too?" I told him that I was, but that God made the Dad the one who is in charge. I went on to explain that one day he would be "in charge" of his house. He responded by saying that he didn't have a house. I told him that when he grows up he will move out and have his own house. He looked at me VERY SERIOUSLY and said, "I don't ever want to leave. I want to stay little and stay here with you."

(I had to post this so I can revisit it with him in 10+ years :0)

Festival Time!

A couple of weeks ago (yes, I'm way behind on blogging) we went to the end of the year festival/fundraiser at Kiley's school.

This is Kiley & Joshua at the entrance to our neighborhood on their way to the festival.

The bouncy-jumpy thing is always a favorite!

Kenney & Joshua on the rock-climbing wall -
I think Josh is winning!

Preschool Graduation

Here are a few pics from Joshua's preschool graduation. The ceremony was cute and plenty entertaining!

they performed.

life-sized picture that Joshua drew of himself.

WHAT I WANT TO BE WHEN I GROW UP - I think
ALL of the girls wanted to be cheerleaders. The boys
either wanted to be super heros or rescue workers,
with a few professional athletes mixed in!
