More Joshua Moments...

So I have two funny stories from last Wednesday when Brittany's volleyball team was scheduled to scrimmage the US National Deaf Team at the Indiana Deaf School. We dropped Brittany off and headed to grab dinner until it was time for the match to start. After our trip to McDonald's, I had to locate an ATM so that we could get cash to pay to get into the game since it was a fundraising event. I ended up driving all the way to Broad Ripple trying to locate a bank. After driving through several banks, none of which had ATM's, I told Kiley and Joshua to keep their eyes open for a bank (like they REALLY could help me). A few seconds later, Joshua said, "Do you think we should ask God to help us find a bank?" I told him that was a great idea and that I would love it if he would pray. He started off with the standard "Thank you God for this day" which begins all of his prayers at meal time. I half expected him to follow it with a blessing for our food. Anyway, he simply said, "God please help us find a bank so we won't be late to the volleyball game". Wow! I was so impressed that he knew to take even the simplest of requests to God! I know you won't be surprised by this, but we found an ATM immediately and made it in time for the game!

The second incident happened at the match. Joshua was very interested in the people who were signing. He finally asked what they were doing, and I explained that they were "talking" to each other with their hands. Joshua said very seriously, "Oh, I know that language" and started waving his hands and making different gestures while moving his mouth without saying anything. It was too funny!
